Home/Alternatives/Camtasia
A modern, free Camtasia alternative.
Camtasia is a veteran screen recorder, but plans are from $39/yr and it can feel heavier than it should. Notch delivers a modern recording and editing workflow for free, with no subscription.
Why people switch from Camtasia
Subscription pricing
Camtasia plans range from $39/yr. Notch is free, with no renewal and no expiration.
Heavy and bloated
Camtasia installs a large footprint with slow startup times. Notch is lightweight and launches in seconds.
Dated interface
Camtasia's UI hasn't had a meaningful refresh in years. Notch was designed from scratch with a modern, minimal interface.
No multi-take recording
With Notch you can record in separate parts, reorder them, delete mistakes, and add transitions — all without a separate editor.
